Will crape myrtle clippings root in water?

I took about four clippings from my parents crape myrtle tree and was wondering if they will root better in water or soil.

Will crape myrtle clippings root in water?
Damp soil with root stimulator. Don't just soak them unless it is just overnight. Best of luck. They should grow fairly easily.
